The famous artcritic Louis Vauxelles writes about Georg Jensen:
It is a pity to admit that during the last 25 years France has not produced one silversmith who has been able to execute an exceptional beautiful fork or spoon. Gallerey as well as Brindeau de Jarny has tried it. But a "service" a "whole set"?
This scandinavian artist was to be the pioneer. Georg Jensen's works in silver are magnificent. Georg Jensen is a great artist, whom we love and admire.
It is delightful to see the monumental works of Georg Jensen and surprising at such small prices to be able to acquire a souvenir or an elegant present. There s a lot of charming small things between the works of Mr. Georg Jensen, as for instance: spoons, paper-knives, bonbonnieres, napkin rings, collars for wine-bottles, etc. and every thing proving of his pronounced taste and at prices to suit every purse.
Mr. Georg Jensen has created a new era in the Silversmith craftmanship and is considered to be the greatest in this branch since Paul Lamarie in the 18th century. His object has been to create an absolutely new style of craftmanship in silver based on the antique, he does not copy, he creates. His principle is to beautify things necessary for daily use and unexpensively at the same time so that they are within the reach of those not blessed with wealth.
